Who doesn't love audiobooks! This is a book I've written called "Simple: How Kids Help Us Understand God". I've wanted to put it in Audiobook format and thought this would be the simplest avenue. At this stage in my life, I am more likely to listen to a book than have time to sit and read. Each week I will be releasing another chapter.
Chapter 1 is Pain and Suffering - Using our own homes, environment, people around us, and ourselves to try and understand God's relationship with our pain and suffering.

I am all for taking the cure but we could dignify suffering more by being more empathetic. Theologically, the agony in the garden has just as much validity as the resurrection.

I want to reflect a moment on a couple of your observations. Dr.Speak is a great metaphor for how our Western Society views pain and suffering. Most of the time we want to diagnose and cure it rather than honor it and suffer in solidarity. As a parent I may have tried to take away pain, but kids just want it to be recognized and have their parent feel it to.
